Each track on this album is meant to spotlight one of the many moments of love -- dreaming about it, looking for it, finding it and living happily ever after.

Laura McMillan believes in love, happiness and fairytale-like happy endings, so she named her third album of solo piano music Storybook Love. “It’s a dream we all have, male and female. For those who have love, count your blessings and savor each moment. For everyone else, keep hoping, keep looking, keep the dream alive. Whether you are in love right now or in the middle of the search, I hope this music can serve as a backdrop of joy and excitement.”

In addition, when McMillan’s previous album, Linger Longer, was released, it felt to her like a fairytale come true. The album went Top 5 on the international Zone Music Reporter Top 100 airplay chart. She received album reviews, airplay and notoriety around the world. She was named “Artist of the Year” and the CD was named “Album of the Year” in the annual awards competition voted on by radio listeners and held by One World Music, the top radio channel of new age music based in the United Kingdom. Her music became so popular on the channel that they offered the pianist her own radio show, “Simply Piano,” where she plays piano music by herself and others.

“It’s just another example that dreams can come true,” McMillan says. “It led me to thinking about the dream we all have of finding true love and living happily ever after. So I had the concept of Storybook Love from the beginning and wrote all the compositions based on that theme.”

The title tune from the album, “Storybook Love,” is accompanied by a theatrical video that can be viewed at her website (LauraMcMillanPiano.com) or youtube/lauramcmillanpiano. The video, directed by Chris Clephane and produced by Mark W. Costa, was shot on location in Seattle, Washington. It features McMillan playing a Steinway Hamburg nine-foot concert grand piano at Hotel 1000 and appearing at a variety of prominent landmarks in the city including Pike Place Market, King Street Station, Kerry Park, Pioneer Square and the Fountain Steps.

OWR ALBUM of THE YEAR! The most treasured moments in life, we all wish would 'Linger Longer'. If you enjoy relaxing, beautiful, solo piano music, and the warm sound of a Steinway, this one's for you!

During a 15 month time period, my Mom (who was my Mom, very best friend, and encouraged my music, always) lost her brother, brother in law, and sister in law to cancer. To say this was a difficult time for her, is an understatement.

I tried my best to be supportive and simply asked her one day, 'What would make you happy?' She replied, 'Nothing.' I then suggested we 'go somewhere', anywhere she would like. She said, 'The only place in the world I've always wanted to go is Cape Cod.' I said, 'Okay, then we're going!'.

She wanted a place right on the beach. She found an old sea captain's house they rented out in Brewster. We went, only for three days, clear across the United States, one day to fly there, one day to stay, one day to fly home. Mom was afraid I'd be bored there.

The place is called, 'Linger Longer by the Sea'. We ended up going 17 more times, for 10 days each time. It was magical, opening the sliding glass door onto the deck, then stepping into the warm sand, swimming in the bay that has warm water! Endless walks on the beach, picking up seashells.

Our memories there on the Cape will last me a lifetime, best, most wonderful trips, always.

I thought it only appropriate to dedicate my new cd in memory of my Mom.

The cover is the sunset on Cape Cod bay, a picture taken right from the deck where we watched hundreds of sunsets and an overlay picture of me playing the piano.

So, now, you know the meaning behind my cover art, piece and title of my new cd, 'Linger Longer'.

The most treasured moments in life, we all wish would 'Linger Longer', and to me, Cape Cod is a piece of Heaven on Earth.

ALBUM REVIEW: This review is from: Without Words by Laura McMillan (Audio CD) I got to know Laura through an ebay transaction and I am really glad I did. She sent me this cd and I have listened to it 3 times and find new things with it every time. I won't call this new age, it's just beautiful piano music. To me, the songs create visions and and feelings that I remember from a long time ago. I love music that can tell a story without words and that is what I have found in Laura's wonderful music. Her style is not pretentious like many piano artists, it flows with ease but has some very interesting patterns both complex and simple. The songs are relatively short which I like because so many artists songs are 5 minutes long and they repeat a lot to the point of monotony. I have listened to this cd while doing monotonous work on the computer and just relax and the time flies. I also have a BBE 462 sonic maximizer that does wonders for the sound quality but found that the sound is really good without the 462 engaged. That shows a really good quality recording with attention to details. I know, I am a studio engineer. Thank you Laura, you are a hidden gem who should be in the spot light. Robert Schurr
